I got bored, so I cut my hair.

Still no outfit post today, guys. I promise I’m working on a good one! It’s a one item, five ways series, and I want to have all the outfits worn and photographed in decent locations before I post it. Patience.

But, I got a haircut today! That’s worth posting about, right? It is in my world, because it’s basically a biannual event. I’m not particular about my hair, so it’s normally just a basic trim. But with all of the *~* Big Life Changes *~* I have going on right now, I thought I’d go all out and get a totally new haircut, too. I basically walked into the nearest salon, sat down and told the stylist I was bored. I gave her only two directions — “I still need it to be long enough to throw into a ponytail, and I want to look like I got a haircut” — and otherwise gave her free rein.

Here’s my hair before:

And here’s the new haircut!

So much shorter! I love it. She had originally cut it an inch or two longer, but when she dried it, we looked at it, and she looked at me and said, “We could still go shorter,” and I thought about it for a minute before saying, “Let’s do it!”

It’s no Emma Watson pixie, but I think it’s the shortest cut I’ve ever had, and I’m delighted. Change is good.

P.S. — My usual blurred face was too creepy for this up-close, so I went with a variation on the “black bar over the eyes” thing. How do we feel about this? Also, sorry for the bad PhotoBooth photos. Sometimes it’s the best I can do.

I rarely get my haircut. Last time I went to a salon I told her about 1 and had a picture of a time I cut it and it was too shot for a ponytail. Said I wanted layers too. Then let her at it.

It’s always kind of scary just giving people your hair and trusting them with it! I’ve had a few bad ones, too. So glad it grows back 😉
