Day 3 — St. Patrick’s Day!

Today was supposed to be orange, but, because it is St. Patrick’s Day, I went green instead. I’ll wear orange on the first green day (Saturday?).

I had several meetings planned for today, so I passed over my St. Pat’s shirts in favor of my favorite green dress. I got it from American Eagle several years ago, and I think I’ve gotten more wear out of it than any other dress I own. I especially love the back of it — the straps come together in a pretty cool way, and, though you can’t see in the pic, it has a tie-waist.

It’s a pretty dress, but with all the straps and such, it shows a little more skin than I wanted to go with on a day when I wanted to look professional. I had originally planned to wear it with my denim jacket, to go with the blue in my shoes, but I thought it looked super boxy and unflattering. I went with the cropped white cardigan instead.

I’ve decided that once I lift my shopping ban, I’m going to try to buy a cropped denim jacket. I saw a lot of girls wearing denim jackets with dresses today, and I think it’s a cute look, but my itty-bitty frame requires something cropped. Tell me, do you think there’s a way I can style that jacket so I don’t get lost in it?

Bonus outfit: I did manage to sneak some orange in today, after all. Once the more formal part of my day was over, I broke out the one jersey I own: My Chicago Shamrox pro lacrosse jersey. It’s huge on me, because that’s how they’re made, but I put it with some skinny jeans to balance that out, and an orange cami underneath to bring out the orange in the design. Love that jersey! Miss that team — the only team I ever loved, and they got canceled after two seasons. Tragic.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone!

The dress is cute, and I think the cropped cardi works well with it.
You’re right, a cropped denim jacket would suit your petite frame.
My advice is to look for jackets with bracelet length sleeves, or even a peter pan collar.

Cute dress. I did the same thing (switched green with orange). Like the top over the dress too. 🙂

You made a good choice going with the white cardigan.

I swapped green for orange too. Today I’m doing blue but tomorrow is purple and then I’m back on track.
