March is the new May

I’m a born-and-raised Chicago girl, but I go to college in Missouri. It’s not super different — they’re both in the Midwest — but on days like today, I feel like I’m living in a different country. 51 degrees and sunny? That’s May weather in Chicago. Maybe April if you’re lucky. Today is March 12! All of the native Missourians are in long pants and jackets, but once the thermometer (okay, Weather.com) hits 50, I’m dressing for summer.

I am going to continue with the crazy poses until someone shows me a better way to pose. Help.

Super bright tank top, cropped white cardigan. I’ve had my jeweled leather sandals for several years, and they’re almost worn through — I’m going to cry when I can’t wear them anymore. I got these capris from American Eagle last year, and they were a true show of will — I wanted them the second they showed up on the site, but I didn’t want to pay $40 for them, so I waited until they went on sale then pounced. They’ve got studs on the front and back pockets, which is a super out-of-character clothing feature for me. They make me feel mildly badass, if you will.

I was a little cold — fine, Missourians, maybe your jackets weren’t such a bad idea — but dressing for warm days (in March!) just makes me happy. I have packed away my winter coat, and I don’t want to see it again until the fall. Let’s see if we can make that happen.
